How to get to RouenWhen you arrive at Paris/Charles-de-Gaulle airport, the cheapest transportation system is to buy a single train ticket from Charles-de-Gaulle to Rouen (about 10 euros). With this ticket, you will be allowed to take the train from Charles-de-Gaulle to Paris/Gare-du-Nord station (about 30 min), from Gare-du-Nord station to Haussmann-Saint-Lazare station (about 10 min), and from Saint-Lazare station to Rouen (about 70 min). Please note that you need to ask for a “contremarque” (that is free) when you buy your train ticket. This contremarque will be necessary to go through the gates of RER. Do not forget to punch your ticket at Saint-Lazare station before getting on the train. Those arriving at Charles-de-Gaulle airport in the afternoon may take the fast train (TGV) that connects Charles-de-Gaulle to Rouen. The train leaves at about 7.40 p.m. and arrives in Rouen at about 10 p.m. (about 30 euros). Those of you who will arrive at Orly airport will have to buy a train ticket from Orly to Paris (called Orlyval ; about 10 euros). First, take Orlyval to Antony station (about 10 min). At Antony station, change for RER, line B (direction Paris) to Gare du Nord station (about 30 min). At Gare du Nord station, change to RER train, line E, to Haussmann-Saint-Lazare station (about 10 min). At Saint-Lazare station, take an express train to Rouen (about 70 min). Please do not forget to punch your ticket at Saint-Lazare station before getting on the train. If you prefer, you can take a taxi in Charles-de-Gaulle or Orly to Saint-Lazare station (about 40 euros). This may even be economical if you can share a taxi with others.
