Innsbruck
Visit Innsbruck’s old town and experience the exciting Middle Ages today. The old town is over 800 years old and home to many sights and attractions that reflect the city’s colourful history: The Golden Roof, Emperor Maximilian I’s splendid alcove balcony, bore witness to jousting tournaments. Lavish celebrations were held at the Imperial Palace. Ambras Castle became a magnificent feature above the city. And guards kept watch for fire, storms and enemies from the City Tower until the 20th century. Innsbruck also welcomes the future: with modern architectural highlights. The gently curved white stations of the Hungerburgbahn funicular are a great example of this. Modern design creates places where people can relax and enjoy, raising the quality of city life. This can be seen in action at the BTV Forum in the city centre. Olympic sports venues, such as the Bergisel Ski Jump, also welcome thousands of fans every year. Explore Innsbruck’s sights and attractions in comfort on the Sightseer hop-on hop-off bus. Innsbruck is located 100km from St Anton, and is easily reachable via train (1 hour ride). Swarovski Crystal Worlds
World famous & wonderful: Swarovski Crystal Worlds, located just 20 kilometres east of Innsbruck, awaits with new and exciting attractions. Between 2013 and 2015, the worlds of art and culture, entertainment and shopping were extended to cover an area of 7.5 hectares. The “Home of the Giant” now inspires with a new poetic garden, which features a unique Crystal Cloud made from 800,000 hand-mounted and enchanted floating crystals. This mystical masterpiece is the largest of its kind worldwide and with it Swarovski has set the new standard for brilliantly implemented installations. The Crystal Cloud draws visitors to the Mirror Pool where the sparkling light of the crystals is captured to form a sea of stars both day and night. |
