EFMC AWARDSTHE NAUTA AWARD FOR PHARMACOCHEMISTRY Dr Paul Leeson By awarding the Nauta Award, the EFMC acknowledges and recognizes outstanding achievements in the advancement of Medicinal Chemistry and the development of international organizational structures in Medicinal Chemistry. The EFMC is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2014 Nauta Award for outstanding achievements in the field of Medicinal Chemistry is Dr Paul LEESON.
THE UCB-EHRLICH AWARD for EXCELLENCE IN MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY Prof. Craig Crews The EFMC awards the UCB-Ehrlich Award for Excellence in Medicinal Chemistry to a young scientist for outstanding research in the field of Medicinal Chemistry in its broadest sense. The EFMC is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2014 UCB – Ehrlich Award for outstanding research into natural products and chemical biology is Professor Craig CREWS.

EFMC PRIZE FOR A YOUNG MEDICINAL CHEMIST IN INDUSTRY Grazia PIIZZI, Novartis, Switzerland “The EFMC Prize for Young Medicinal Chemist in Industry” acknowledges and recognizes an outstanding young medicinal chemist (<10 years after PhD) working in industry within Europe. The Prize is given annually and consists of a diploma, € 1.000 and an invitation for a short presentation at an EFMC symposium. EFMC PRIZE FOR A YOUNG MEDICINAL CHEMIST IN ACADEMIA “The EFMC Prize for Young Medicinal Chemist in Academia” was established by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC) to acknowledge and recognize an outstanding young medicinal chemist (<10 years after PhD) working in academia within Europe. The Prize is given annually and consists of a diploma, € 1.000 and an invitation for a short presentation at an EFMC symposium. IUPAC RICHTER PRIZEDr Helmut Buschmann The 2014 Iupac Richter Prize has been awarded to Dr Helmut BUSCHMANN for his outstanding creative contributions to the invention and development of the novel analgesic drug tapentadol (Nucynta™ and Palexia™). The Prize (USD 10 000) has been established by a generous gift from the Chemical Works of Gedeon Richter, Plc. (Budapest, Hungary) to acknowledge the key role that medicinal chemistry plays toward improving human health. |
