EFMC-YMCS Presentation Prize sponsored by EFMC & Actelion

The EFMC-YMCS Presentation Prize sponsored by Actelion will be awarded to the best oral presentation at the 2nd EFMC Young Medicinal Chemist Symposium (EFMC-YMCS), including lectures by invited prize winners from national young medicinal chemist meetings in Europe and oral communications selected from submitted abstracts.

The Presentation Prize covers:

  • An oral communication and free registration for the next EFMC-ISMC in Manchester in August 2016 (sponsored by the EFMC)
  • A travel grant of up to 1000€ to visit EFMC-ISMC 2016 (sponsored by Actelion)

Xavier Gómez-Santacana (Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia) received the EFMC-YMCS Presentation Prize for his presentation on “Photoisomerizable Phenylazopyridines Enable the Control of Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor Subtpe 5 Activity with Light”. The prize was awarded by Chris De Graaf on behalf of the prize sponsor Actelion.


EFMC-YMCS Poster Prize sponsored by MedChemCom

The EFMC-YMCS Poster Prize sponsored by MedChemCom will be awarded to the best poster presentation at the 2nd EFMC Young Medicinal Chemist Symposium (EFMC-YMCS). The Prize consists of a diploma and € 500.

Natalie Theodoulou (GlaxoSmithKline) received the EFMC-YMCS Poster Prize for her presentation on “Discovery of I-BRD9, a Selective Cell Active Chemical Probe for Bromodomain Containing Protein 9”. The prize was awarded by Krzysztof Jozwiak on behalf of the prize sponsor MedChemCom.

 


EFMC-YMCS Public's Choice Prize sponsored by Roche

The EFMC-YMCS Public's Choice Prize sponsored by Roche will be awarded to the best oral presentation or poster presentation at the 2nd EFMC Young Medicinal Chemist Symposium (EFMC-YMCS) chosen by the public. The Prize consists of a diploma and an iPad.

Ben Whitehurst (GlaxoSmithKline) was awarded the EFMC-YMCS Public's Choice Prize for her presentation on “Playing Properties Right in the CD38 FBDD Programme: Small Changes Produced Significant Shifts in Property Profiles”. The prize, based on the votes of YMCS participants, was awarded by Christian Lerner on behalf of the prize sponsor Roche.
