2 excursions are organised on Sunday August 27, to allow you to discover Vienna:

Historical Vienna bus tour, with Schönbrunn Palace visit  (9:30 - 12:30)

To provide you with a first impression of the city, we start our tour at Ringstrasse. This boulevard with an approximate length of 4 km was created in the course of the city’s first expansion in the middle of the 19th century on the area of the former Glacis. We will see buildings like the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Natural History, the City Hall, the Burgtheater, the Parliament, the University, and many more. The highlight of our excursion is a tour through Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the former Imperial House of Austria.

Vienna walking tour – City of Music (14:00 - 16:00)

Vienna hosted numerous musicians who lived and worked in this city. On our tour we will pass the residences of Josef Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven to mention just a few. From the Michaelerplatz across the Augustinerstrasse we walk to the Vienna State Opera, one of the most famous Opera houses in the world. Along the Kärntnerstrasse, Rauhensteingasse and Domgasse we reach the St Stephen’s Cathedral where we visit the Chappell where Mozart’s body was blessed. Passing through small alleys we get to the Heiligenkreuzerhof a picturesque baroque inner courtyard (quad). Passing the Baseliskenhaus we continue our walk cross the Postgasse and Riemergasse to the Seilerstätte. Finally you visit the house of music where you can enjoy all conveniences an interactive museum has to offer.

Alternative: After the visit at the house of music, you can immerse yourself in the Mozart museum into the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

A Welcome Reception will be organised on Sunday at 18:30 in the Symposium venue. The Reception is free of charge but subject to registration. All participants are invited to join!

The organisers cordially invite you to attend the banquet on Wednesday, August 30 at 20:00.

The banquet will take place at the Heuriger "Der Wiener Heurige Wolff".

A Heuriger is a typical Viennese restaurant where vintners serve their own wines, as well as traditional dishes. The Heuriger (or Buschenschank) can be seen as typical Viennese where you drink wine from own tillage and eat a trifle. The interior is made of wooden seats and wooden tables. Vienna is the only metropolis in the world that cultivates wine within its city limits.

The participation in the dinner is optional, and subject to prior booking at the price of 70€ (including bus transportation). Please register during the online registration process or via the link "My registration" if you are already registered.
