MedChem 2009 - Does size matter? Beyond small molecule therapeutics: challenges and success stories
Annual One-Day Meeting on Medicinal Chemistry of SRC & KVCV
Brussels, Belgium - November 6, 2009
The Medicinal Chemistry Division of SRC (Société Royale de Chimie) and the Division for Medicinal and Bio-Organic Chemistry of KVCV (Koninklijke Vlaamse Chemische Vereniging) are organizing every year an international symposium in Belgium, with the aim to update interested participants on selected areas of pharmaceutical research, by specialists in their respective field. This conference of six plenary lectures, three oral communications and a poster session will explore how larger size molecular architectures have expanded the range of pharmaceutically active compounds well beyond so-called 'small molecules'. It will address the technological challenges of these compounds and highlight recent achievements, including how synthetic and medicinal chemistry approaches can contribute to explore and optimize this new chemical space. The event is scheduled to be held on Friday November 6, 2009 at the campus of the "Université libre de Bruxelles" in Brussels, Belgium. |
