MedChem 2005 - Targeting the Brain, Successes and Pitfalls
Annual One-Day Meeting on Medicinal Chemistry of SRC & KVCV
Namur, Belgium - November 25, 2005

The annual One Day Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry will be held at the University of Namur, FUNDP, Auditorium Pedro Arrupe under the title 'Targeting the Brain: Successes and Pitfalls'.

A huge number of drug discovery programs within pharmaceutical companies and academia are targeting brain specific diseases. The brain is certainly the most complex organ and the cellular mechanisms of many CNS diseases are still under investigation. This symposium of six plenary lectures, three oral communications and a poster session will cover various aspects of CNS drug hunting such as novel potential CNS targets, and novel approaches to the medicinal chemistry of well established targets. It will also investigate the required pharmacokinetic parameters for brain penetration and review the status of the models mimicking the blood brain barrier.

Deadline for poster submission and early registration fees: 26 October
